The Sonic Water Level Meter, also known as the Well Watch 660, is a device that utilizes sound waves to determine the static water depth. It can work even if there are bends, coiled pipe and installed pump equipment in the well. The device requires an external power source of 7-16vdc, which can come from a power adapter, battery pack or solar panel. Customers can add a longer tube as long as it remains submerged at the end, but if the water levels are lower, it can cause the sensor to give a Constant reading of the length of the tube. The device does not determine the bottom of the well depth but only the static depth of the water level. It does not have the ability to store data and requires a USB connection to download them to a computer. One customer enquired about the possibility of adding RS232 connections, which the 660 model does not have. The manufacturer recommends upgrading to the Well Watch 670 model or adding a 310 Remote Display that can wirelessly communicate with the Well Watch 660. Overall, the Sonic Water Level Meter has received positive reviews from customers who have found it easy to set up and use.
