The hinge mounts on the outside of the door which means that it does not matter what the door thickness is. It cannot be adjusted to keep the door open and it's not a double-acting hinge for saloon-type doors. The hinge can be opened past 90 degrees, but not 180 degrees. Although some users said that the hinges easily broke or that they had to return them because it was not what they expected, most customers are pleased with the quality and heavy-duty durability that these hinges provide. One reviewer even used these hinges to build a steel door to his pipe mailbox and it worked perfectly.
