The Thermal Grizzly TG-Shield is a compound designed to protect electronic circuits from high temperatures. However, customers have found that it's too expensive for the amount you get. Despite this, it was successfully used to delid an i9-7960x processor, and the red colouring makes it easy to see where it has been applied. However, a day later, it was discovered that the LM compound used to recheck the delidding job had discoloured and eroded the TG coating, which also flakes off easily. Before using the TG Shield, the reviewer had used liquid electrical tape to coat the contacts and caps of Intel processors, which was found to be both cheaper and stronger. Another customer found that the compound mixed with their heat sink, making the purpose of the compound unclear. Ultimately, Considering the cost and the flaking issue, it seems there are better alternatives to the Thermal Grizzly TG-Shield.
