Lowrance Weather Stations Editorial Review
The Lowrance WS320 Wireless Wind Pack has garnered a mixed reception from customers, showcasing both positive attributes and significant concerns. Those who experienced initial setup noted its ease of pairing with the NMEA2000 network. Several users shared that the device powered up quickly and began transmitting wind data almost instantly after installation, indicating strong initial functionality. This ease of integration played a critical role in affirming its suitability for various marine settings. However, the excitement surrounding its immediate performance is dampened by serious reliability issues reported by users. Many customers expressed frustration over the unit’s tendency to stop transmitting under adverse weather conditions, highlighting its potential risk for unsafe situations while sailing. The challenges in troubleshooting problems, particularly those requiring mast access, which is often complicated while underway, were also raised. Users criticized the customer support given by the manufacturer, B&G, for lacking understanding of such scenarios and for what they perceived as a dismissive attitude towards warranty claims. Issues like battery failures further exacerbated customer dissatisfaction, as did the slow customer service and the feeling of being stuck in a “send-in for discount” situation rather than receiving prompt assistance. Overall, while the Lowrance WS320 exhibits promising initial performance, its reliability and customer service leave much to be desired, leading many customers to seek potentially more dependable alternatives. **
