It is not heat resistant and doesn't seem to have any self-leveling action at all, but it can give excellent clarity to your work and enable layering. This product works perfectly when used with acrylic paints, and it makes painting with acrylic much smoother than gesso. It can also add lift to your paint and extend its life if you take your time in painting. Saran wrap can be used to cover the paint container and stick it in the fridge when not in use. Overall, Golden Clear Leveling Gel Medium is an interesting product, and it can produce a subtle texture if added to color and painted on the surface using a wood grain tool.
