What is the purpose of the Derale Remote Oil Filter Kit?

The Derale Remote Oil Filter Kit is designed to relocate your oil filter away from the engine, optimizing the flow and cooling of oil. This setup increases the efficiency of your engine's lubrication system and helps in maintaining cleaner oil by allowing for better filtration. When used in vehicles or equipment that experience high performance or heat, this kit can enhance overall durability and performance.

What components come with the Derale Remote Oil Filter Kit?

The kit includes a single filter, a 34-16 inch thread adapter, a 10 ft hose, and fittings to ensure a complete installation. Each component is engineered for universal compatibility, making it suitable for various vehicle models and custom applications. The robust hose and durable fittings provide a reliable solution for challenging installations and harsh operational environments.

Is the Derale Remote Oil Filter Kit easy to install?

Installation of the Derale Remote Oil Filter Kit is straightforward for those with basic mechanical skills. The kit is equipped with comprehensive instructions and the necessary fittings for a seamless setup. It fits a wide range of vehicles, including cars, trucks, and racing applications, allowing enthusiasts to improve their oil filtration regardless of make or model. Its versatility makes it a preferred choice for those looking to enhance engine performance and lifespan.

How does relocating the oil filter benefit engine performance?

Relocating the oil filter can enhance oil flow and cooling efficiency. By allowing the filter to be positioned in a cooler area of the engine bay, the oil can maintain optimal viscosity, reducing breakdown and assisting in better lubrication. This is particularly advantageous during high-performance driving or in hot climates where engine temperatures can soar.

What type of oil filter is compatible with this kit?

The Derale Remote Oil Filter Kit is compatible with various spin-on oil filters, allowing users to choose a filter that meets their specific needs. This flexibility is essential for those who want to use high-performance filters or specialty filter types to optimize their vehicle's oil filtration further.

What are the key features of the 10 ft hose in the kit?

The included 10 ft hose is made from high-temperature resistant materials designed to withstand the extreme conditions often found in automotive environments. This length allows for flexible routing for optimal positioning of the oil filter, making it easier to install in vehicles with unique layouts or tight spaces.

Can I use this kit for aftermarket modifications?

Absolutely! The Derale Remote Oil Filter Kit is ideal for aftermarket modifications, especially for performance-enhanced engines or custom builds. Utilizing this kit allows car enthusiasts to modify their vehicles for better performance, improved oil management and cleaner oil, which is essential for maintaining engine health amid extensive modifications.

What maintenance is required for the Derale Remote Oil Filter Kit?

Regularly check the hoses and fittings for leaks and wear, and replace the oil filter according to your engine's maintenance schedule. Keeping an eye on the condition of the remote setup helps maintain optimal performance and filters out contaminants effectively. For racing or heavy-duty applications, more frequent checks may be necessary to ensure everything is in top condition.
