Japanese Sais Editorial Review

The sai are appropriately sturdy for contact use and come in 15, 19.5, and 21.5 inch lengths. They are affordable and a great choice for beginners. However, they are not as durable as higher quality forged versions and the wrapping around the handle often comes loose. The weights of the sai differ slightly, and there are indentations in some, which could indicate craftsmanship flaws. The leather wraps are nice and remain intact. The chrome sai is very elegant and the black one is not exactly as pictured. The chrome version has held up well, but the handle wrap of the black sai broke off easily.
