- Strabon (MÖ 64 - MS 24), Yunan tarihçi, coğrafyacı ve filozoftur. Yaşadığı dönemde bilinen yerlere yapılan göçlere ve hangi milletlerin nerelerde yerleşmeler yaptığı üzerine gerçekleştirdiği çalışmalarla ün kazanmıştır. Roma aristokratlarıyla kan bağı olduğu düşünülmektedir. Dünyanın ilk coğrafyacısı kabul edilir. Ondan günümüze kalan eseri Coğrafya 17 kitaptan oluşan dev bir başyapıttır. Toplam üç cilt 17 kitap halinde üç binden fazla dipnotla Türkçe'ye ilk kez Dorlion Yayınevi tarafından Türk okuyucusuna kazandırılmıştır. Birinci ciltte: Strabon'un Tarih Hatıralarının birinci cildi, antik dünyanın sınırlarını zorlayan bir eserdir.
