They are only 4W because they are LED (and far more energy efficient than 'normal' bulbs) ... but produce similar light output to replace a 40W 'normal' bulb.

These are LEDs - it's got the on-trend look of tungsten but is an LED bulb. The light produced is not nearly as warm or as controllable as a conventional dimmable 'Edison'-style bulb, but it is of course using much less power and will last far longer.

As far as I am aware, yes. In fact, we don't use a dimmer at all and they work just fine.

They're quite dull. I have a big kitchen but also have lots of spotlights and without the other lights on, they just give a soft glow above my island. It's a 12ft island but a white top and should look bright, but they're very soft. So, no I guess is my answer. Hope this helps.
